Terms
The short version
- WorkShadchan is a free matching office for the frum community. It isn't a job board.
- You must be 18 or older and tell us the truth about yourself or your role.
- An AI helps, but a person approves every introduction, and both sides must agree first.
- We can't promise a job or a hire. Employers make their own hiring decisions and must follow employment law.
- Use what you learn about the other side only for the introduction it was shared for.
1. About WorkShadchan
WorkShadchan (workshadchan.com) is run by YSLG Development (“we”, “us”). It is a free service, run as chessed, that matches people looking for work with employers. By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You may have one account, in your own name, with accurate details.
- If you sign up for an employer, you confirm you are allowed to hire, or recruit, on its behalf.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Our office may decline or pause any account, role or match at its discretion. For example, if we can't verify an employer, or something doesn't seem right.
3. How it works
- You fill in a short questionnaire and have an interview with our AI interviewer.
- The AI suggests possible matches. A person in our office reviews them.
- If the office approves, the employer sees an anonymous summary of the candidate and can say yes or no.
- If the employer says yes, the candidate is told who the employer is and can say yes or no.
- Only when both agree do we introduce you to each other by email. After that, any hiring is between you.
4. What we don't promise
We do our best to make good matches, but we can't promise that you will find a job, or the right person, or that a match will work out. We don't employ candidates and we aren't part of any job offer or employment. We check employers and listen carefully in interviews, but we can't fully verify everything people tell us, so please use your own judgement before accepting a job or hiring someone.
5. If you're looking for work
- Be honest about your experience, skills and availability.
- Check the profile written from your interview and correct anything that's wrong.
- Tell us if you find a job or want to pause, so we stop sending you matches.
6. If you're hiring
- Only post real roles that you are actually hiring for, and describe the pay and conditions honestly.
- You make your own hiring decisions and are responsible for following employment law where you hire, including laws against discrimination. If you tell us about a requirement such as gender, it must have a genuine, lawful reason, and our office may decline to apply it.
- Use what you learn about candidates only to consider them for the role you were introduced for. Don't share it, add it to a mailing list, or contact a candidate outside an introduction we made.
- Tell us when a role is filled or closed.
7. Using the service properly
Please don't:
- pretend to be someone else, or give false information;
- harass, mislead or pressure anyone you are introduced to;
- copy, collect or scrape information from the service, or use automated tools to access it;
- try to get around our security, see other people's information, or disrupt the service;
- try to make the AI interviewer reveal other people's information or behave in ways it shouldn't;
- use the service for anything illegal, or to advertise something other than a genuine role.
8. AI-written content
Interviews, profiles, job summaries and match explanations are produced with the help of AI. They may contain mistakes. They aren't advice and they aren't a promise about anyone. A person in our office approves every introduction, and you should make your own decisions.
9. Your information
What you tell us stays yours. You allow us to use it to run the service as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy. That includes writing your profile and sharing the parts the policy describes with the other side of a match. The WorkShadchan name, logo and site belong to us.
10. Closing an account
You can close your account at any time by emailing office@workshadchan.com. We may close or suspend an account that breaks these Terms, or if we stop running the service. Introductions already made stay made. Each side keeps the contact details it was given, under section 6.
11. Liability
The service is free and provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for the decisions or conduct of candidates or employers, for any employment that follows an introduction, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, and disputes go to the courts in New York. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you and that can't be waived.
13. Changes and contact
If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new Terms apply. Questions? Email office@workshadchan.com.
